Upgrade to Dyneema® Bowrope available. (2073)
Ideal too for keeping handy when venturing out with the motor home should the weather change for the worse and a steady pull would be most useful.
To use you simply clamp the unique stainless steel ‘Clam Shell’ onto the tow ball, place the portable winch kit over that, fit the safety pin, and either plug into the special vehicle battery harness or attach the crocodile clips to a well charged separate battery.
In the box you get the 4,000 lbs winch complete with roller fairleads, wire rope, all mounted on a Bak-Rak unit. You also get the clam shell, swingaway pulley block. A tree strop, bow shackle, a short harness and a pair of large battery crocodile clips.
David Bowyer’s innovative ‘Winch in a Box’ portable Bak-Rak tow ball winch mounting system. It features his Goodwinch TDS-ATV/GP 4000 winch installed on a Bak-Rak tow ball mounting unit. This 12 volt 4,000 lbs portable winch is capable of carrying out many pulling tasks when it is fitted onto a tow ball either on a vehicle, the head board of a trailer or even at the top of a steep driveway to pull either a small caravan or trailer up to the top.
When you buy a 4,000 lbs winch, its like buying ‘30 Men in a Box’, based on an average man being able to pull / lift a little over 50 kgs (110 lbs)
An optional extra, long vehicle harness complete with a safety cut out switch and quick disconnect fittings to match what is fitted as standard on the winch, is available for an additional £49 plus VAT.
This brilliant concept is brought into the world by David Bowyer of Goodwinch and Pete Yates of Bak-Rak.
This superb portable winch system is ideal for pulling things around the yard, small boats and jet skis up slipways, pulling a stuck caravan on wet grass towards its towing vehicle on a hard standing, or even pulling a mildly stuck vehicle back onto hard ground.
